Vault Key
The OpenFi Foundation is a non-profit DAO dedicated to banking the unbanked. They leverage blockchain technology to provide micro-loans and credit history to rural communities that traditional banks ignore.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
A decentralized identity wallet built for the unbanked population in Southeast Asia. The app removes text-heavy jargon and uses visual metaphors and biometric security to make Web3 financial tools accessible to users with low literacy.

THE CHALLENGE
Web3 offers a solution, but the user experience is hostile. Wallet apps like MetaMask are built for tech-savvy traders, confusing users with "Seed Phrases," "Gas Fees," and "Hex Addresses." For a user in rural Philippines with low English literacy, these interfaces are unusable.

THE SOLUTION
We built a "Language-Agnostic" identity wallet. We replaced the concept of a "Private Key" with a "Visual Vault"—a generated abstract artwork unique to the user. We also implemented "Guardian Recovery," allowing users to recover lost accounts via 3 trusted friends rather than a written password. The interface uses heavy skeuomorphism (textures of gold and glass) to convey value without text.
THE OUTCOMES
60% of initial users had never owned a bank account before.
0% Lockout Rate due to the visual/social login method (vs industry standard 15%).
Impact: The app successfully issued over $500k in micro-loans to users who previously had no credit score.

CTO
We asked for a wallet; they gave us a financial passport. The 'Visual Vault' concept was a stroke of genius that solved our biggest adoption hurdle overnight.
